- Name = 68k Nyet 1.1.sit
- Path = AMUG 15:Files:PowerMac:68k Nyet 1.1.sit
- Size: 19K Date: 2/27/95
- Description:
- 68k Nyet 1.0 - 68k Nyet is the inverse of those PowerPC code strippers. It
- removes, autmagically, the 68k code resources of a fat application. This
- can free up anywhere from Zero to dozens of Megabytes per application. I
- don't recommend it's use upon 68k-only applications, as those applications
- will not work after being processed by 68k Nyet!, though you will free up
- some substantial hard disk space.

- Size:468K Date: 8/25/94
- Description:
- Bloodsuckers 2.0 PPC - Bloodsuckers has unbelievable graphics, cool
- animation and it's fun too! It requires 256 colors and at least a 13 inch
- monitor. The basic premise is to protect your arm from being sucked into
- oblivion by hoards of blood-thirsty insects, which you do by hitting the
- bugs with your hand and making a big mess. It's worth the download time
- just to see the graphics. This version - Fixes some of the Memory
- allocation bugs so you shouldn't get Not Enough Memory for Unpacked Data
- errors. Greatly improves the performance of the game. It should run much
- better on slow Macs. Requires a PowerMac, runs native.

- Size: 96K Date: 7/27/94
- Description:
- FracPPC 1.0b2 - This is the second beta version of FracPPC, which I hope to
- eventually develop into a full-featured fractal program. Even though some
- essential features are still missing, I wanted to make this available as
- soon as possible so that fractal fans with Power Macs can get a taste of
- the fractal exploration capabilities of the new machines. It only
- generates the Mandelbrot set, and the plots cannot be copied to the
- clipboard nor saved as PICT files. All of these features will be added in
- future versions. On the other hand, plots of any size, limited only by the
- memory allocated to the program, may be generated, and plots may be

- Size: 17K Date: 3/22/95
- Description:
- Apple's new System 7.5 Update 1.0 contains code to selectively load
- Operating System patches based on machine type. Machine type is determined
- at boot-up and is stored as a Gestalt value. PowerMacintosh 7100/66
- machines that have been upclocked to 80 MHz report a different Gestalt
- value than either the standard PowerMac 7100/66 Gestalt or the 7100/80's
- Gestalt. Hence, the System Update 1.0 will not load on 7100/66's that have
- been upclocked to 80 MHz. This patch is only for use on PowerMac 7100/66,
- 8100/100, and 8100/110 machines that have been up-clocked. No other
- machines will require this patch, and it probably should not be used on
- any other machines.

- are, they are the letters after a menu item. When these letters are

- Description:
- PowerPC Cache Performance - This report describes some PowerPC benchmarks
- that measure the performance effects of cache and virtual memory. Cache is
- a high-speed memory buffer that makes main memory appear to run faster.
- There are two type of cache, level-one (L1) cache that is built into the
- CPU and level-two (L2), an external add-in. Cache is classified as either
- split instruction-data (i.e., Harvard architecture) or unified where both
- instructions and data share the same buffer (See figure). Split cache
- simplifies the instruction cache circuits, they dont have to update main
- memory. Furthermore, the code does not have to compete for cache space
- with the data it is processing.

- monitors, but if you want the real protection without turning off your
- monitors, the real dark screen is the best choice. ScreenScope1.0.1 works
- like a screen saver and a screen poster. ScreenScope1.0.1 covers your
- screen with the real black color, and a hole in the center of the screen
- lets you watch stars and galaxies just like using telescopes. The stars
- and galaxies you will see are the real photos, so you can watch the outer
- space right at your Mac's screen. Although ScreenScope 1.0.1 is an

- Name = Stereodrome PPC.sit

- Size:247K Date: 8/08/94
- Description:
- Stereodrome PPC - This is a PowerPC-only game. It was actually never
- completed. Still, graphics, sounds, explosions, etc. are rampant here.
- It's a real 3D-3D game. You'll need red/blue(cyan) glasses and a color Mac
- for the game to have any meaning whatsoever. Stars appear to fall away
- into the depths of your monitor, ships appear to come up out of the depths
- - you know, things like that - 3D. It's like the old arcade classic
- Tailgunner (although I never played it). You're like a turret gunner on a
- space ship. Anyway. If you like 3D things and have the above equipment,
- you'll have a fun time playing with the parallax and such and crticizing
- the 3D effect etc. Makes a lovely conversation piece. Freeware.

- Strip PPC/68k - These two programs are used for removing the 68000 code and
- the PowerPC code from a FAT application. Drop a FAT application on StripPPC
- to remove the PowerPC software; or on Strip68K to remove the 68000
- software. Both of these programs are very preliminary; they seem to work
- okay on my computers (a Quadra and a PowerPC 7100/66), but if there are
- any problems with them, please drop the authors a line. Deleting the FAT
- of a FAT binary progam will save some space on your hard drive.
